NEW RANGE WITHOUT HONEY! I hold my hands to whatever gods may be with this one. You did it Linda, ya did good. Before I get into the in-n-out of these burgers, unless you’re an omnivore that’s willing to slow cook your own pork, Linda has definitely undercut you on price at £2.00 for two sweet, sweet, no-meat patties.
Pulled pork alternatives are practically the holy grail of vegan fast food and these’ll definitely make you throw double fingers at Ronald McDonald. Pull them out of the oven and you won’t be left with a sad mash or dry-earth cake of a patty – instead you’ll shed a single tear at the perfectly formed, juicy quarter pounder. Dark brown with the “shredded meat” texture to them, at first glance I’d be hard pressed to believe these weren’t meat from the beginning. Then I took a bite. My faith was reaffirmed: the sweet and almost smokey barbecue flavours, the way each morsel of pork just pulls away coated in a wholesome helping of it’s own juices
As the picture above shows, each patty is made of genuine chunks and shreds of vegan heaven. Its texture was that perfect mix of supple, tender and chewy. If you were worried that the juice would leave a soggy mess or that the barbecue would overpower the patty then let me put your mind at rest by saying you need to try these.
Omnivore Score? I could feed this to the most seasoned meat eater and they’d probably ask for another and another. It’s identical to its meaty counterpart and to be deadly honest, it tastes so damn good I wouldn’t notice a difference anyway.
- My Rating: 5/5
- Omnivore Score: 5/5
- Overall: 5/5
